Open Letter to Sponsors
The independent 501-C Grace Arts Project (GAP) is producing the 5th annual The Attic Film Festival (TAFF) on March 30th and 31st, 2012 at the For the City Center in Austin, Texas. The event is a Christian film festival for independent and emerging Christian filmmakers. We aim to find the best in Christian independent film, provide venues, audiences, and then monetarily reward their creators.
Here’s some of the ways funds were used:
- Attic Africa 2011 not only supported the aspiring filmmakers, but focused on helping Africa through various related ministries.
- On June 4th and Sept. 24th TAFF 2011 Winners Screening I& II occurred at the Alamo Drafthouse. California director Joshua Wiegel and Austinite Lee Rothenflue presented Q&A’s.
- TAFF participated in the Panama City Beach Christian Music Festival this summer by screening TAFF films in between music sets. Butterfly Circus, Sons of Lwala, and Most were featured. There were ten major artists/groups which included Toby Mac, Third Day, and Switchfoot. Each Christian band was presented a set of TAFF films.
- 20 kids from the AVID class at Reagan HS were given tickets to Courageous in Nov ’11. Also 20 kids from the same class were given tickets to Prince Caspian: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in ’10.
- TAFF had a booth and screened two films at SpiritFest on November 13th at Dell Diamond. SpiritFest had 12,000 in attendance making it to be the largest faith-based family friendly festival in Central Texas.
News and Upcoming events include:
- GAP is now a 501-C and a partner in the For the City Network http://www.forthecity.org.
- The Gospel allegory, The Butterfly Circus, won TAFF’s BEST FILM along with two other awards and is now being developed into a feature film in Los Angeles.
- On March 30th-31st TAFF 2012 will present Attic World Ministry Fair in conjunction with the film festival. The Attic World Ministry Fair will include ministry tables, information, educational activities, and several award winning films focusing on the challenges facing these ministries and the people groups they serve.
God is opening doors for TAFF to reach people for Christ through entertaining films. We aim to find the best in Christian independent film, provide venues, audiences, and monetarily reward their creators. We need your help to continue this ministry.
Will you consider sponsoring TAFF 2012?
Thank you,
Dr. Jamee Kennedy, Loretta Mach, and Laurinda Rohrer
