Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS AWMF-2012?
AWMF -2012 is a ministry fair highlighting the ministries that serve the world for Christ. We are looking specifically for ministries that use Visual and Performance Art as a means to help raise awareness, educate, or fund their ministries. At AWMF 2012, your ministry will have the opportunity to set up a display table or booth to help educate, inspire and to secure funding for your ministry.
WHEN AND WHERE WILL IT BE HELD?
AWMF-2012 will be held in conjunction with The ATTIC FILM FEST 2012 (TAFF) on MARCH 31, 2012 at For The City Center, 500 E St Johns in Austin, TX 78752.
HOW WILL THIS DUAL EVENT BE ORGANIZED?
TAFF 2012 will screen films in the Auditorium at the For the City Center. AWMF 2012 will be in the lobbies and hallways on the way to these rooms. The crowd will pass by your display table to and from the screenings. We ask that you have your display/booth manned at all times to be able to answer any questions regarding your ministry. We also ask that you do your best to artfully display your information.
TAFF will also screen several films highlighting the challenges of people groups all over the world. Some of these films are remarkable. Some are very difficult to watch and deal with the rampant evil and darkness that plagues these people groups. It is hoped that these films will shed light into the dark realities of these sweet precious people and thereby help draw support for the ministries represented.

We plan to also involve as much of the Austin community as possible. We will kickoff the relationship in September, 2011 with a museum-quality exhibit called Step into Africa (SIA), provided by World Vision. SIA realistically depicts the lives of 4 real children, telling the stories of their struggles with HIV/AIDS and poverty, with the goal of moving visitors to take action to make a difference in the world. As participants exit the exhibit, they`ll have an opportunity see pictures and read the stories of individual children in Matete, and be invited to sponsor those children. Sponsorship involves a monthly donation which fuels the community development, but also includes forming personal relationships with the sponsored children. SIA will be open for 8 continuous days from Sept 11-18. We are also planning special events throughout the week to draw the community to our campus and then encourage them to tour the exhibit. |
